3D printed ‘MouthPad’ turns heads

Medtech startup Augmental has developed a device that could make touch technologies far easier to use for the physically impaired. Made from dental resin with Asiga 3D printing, `The ‘MouthPad’ allows you to operate electronic devices using only your tongue.

With a bit of practice, it’s possible to drag, drop, left and right click, or assign functions to certain head movements. There’s even plans to add sucking and biting functionality.

Though still in early access, the technology’s compatibility with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android devices means it has huge potential – even if there are still questions about how using a wireless device so close to your brain would work in the long term.
