AMIS announces new binder jet slicing software

AMIS, a 3D printing software developer and subsidiary of HYBRID Software, has launched the first beta version of its new version of AMIS Pro for binder jet additive manufacturing.

The Ghent-based tech firm describes AMIS Pro as a functional “CAD in, print out” build preparation software. Compatible with Mac and Windows OS, the platform offers post-CAD and pre-print functionality, enabling users to prepare batches of parts for 3D printing.

AMIS’ new binder jet slicing software is now available for free as part of a limited public program, accessible for download from the company’s official website. Users will get 30 days’ free access to AMIS Pro v1.5 and are encouraged to share their feedback to aid the software’s ongoing development. AMIS plans to implement over 30 new features, supported by user feedback and HYBRID Software technology.

AMIS Pro v1 beta program release is HYBRID Software’s first release since AMIS took off as an internal 3D printing startup in 2023. The software boasts features like batch visualization, part manipulation (positioning, orientation, scaling), voxel-based nesting, and batch slicing. Additional functionalities include saving and reopening batches, specifying layer thicknesses, and configuring 3D printers with various binders and materials.

“Our product is differentiated by its workflow logic and decades of experience producing industrial jetting software,” commented Kris Binon, XYZ Manager at AMIS. “AMIS also promises integration with Metprint software from HYBRID’s subsidiary, Meteor Inkjet, to optimize data transfer to 3D printheads.”

According to AMIS CEO Nick De Roeck, the company continues to develop features that address the evolving needs of the 3D printing industry – adding that it has plans to integrate AI for algorithm development and collaborate with binder and material jetting OEMs in future.
