3D-Printed Air Max 1000 from NIKE and Zellerfeld takes ComplexCon 2024 by the storm

ComplexCon 2024 in Las Vegas became the stage where NIKE and Zellerfeld introduced the Air Max 1000, a revamped version of the legendary Air Max 1, showcasing the latest 3D printing technology integrated with NIKE’s innovative heritage.

The Air Max 1000 combines NIKE’s signature Air cushioning technology with Zellerfeld’s 3D-printed honeycomb-structured midsoles, resulting in top support and flexibility. Designed for both comfort and performance, the shoe boasts unique breathable materials, making it perfect for both athletic and casual wear.

Zellerfeld’s innovative foot-scanning workflow tailors the Air Max 1000 for a precise fit, crushing the painful concept of standard sizing. The collaboration overcomes every possible limitation of conventional footwear design by offering a killer combo of customized comfort and innovative  manufacturing.

The launch is a follow-up on NIKE’s A.I.R. (Advanced Innovation and Reimagination) series, which debuted in Paris shortly before the 2024 Olympics.

“It’s control, times precision, times expression – all of which are vital to sport and to design,” said John Hoke, NIKE’s Chief Innovation Officer.

Obviously, excitement for the wonder-shoes is heating up, especially with no public release of the Air Max 1000 yet confirmed. Nevertheless, Zellerfeld still offers custom 3D-printed sneakers, with deliveries starting March 2025.
