UltiMaker, one of the world’s leaders in desktop 3D printing, has announced the launch of their next-gen 3D printer, UltiMaker S8, designed to quadruple productivity. Delivering top-quality prints at speeds of up to 500mm/s, this is so far the fastest and most advanced model in UltiMaker’s S series.
At the heart of the S8 is the brand new UltiMaker Cheetah motion planner, which takes motion control to a new level, enabling precision of 0.15mm ± 0.15%. Add high-flow print cores and an upgraded feeder system, and S8 is ready to eliminate ringing, blobs, and mechanical stress – all the typical challenges in high-speed printing. “We have engineered the S8 to provide faster printing speeds, improved reliability and precision, robust security features, enhanced connectivity, and dual-material capabilities,” said Marc Uyttenboogaard, UltiMaker’s product manager.
The S8 is seamlessly integrated with UltiMaker’s Digital Factory, so users can slice, manage, and print via Cura Cloud, the browser-based version of UltiMaker Cura. This allows you to manage print jobs securely from anywhere, with scalable subscription plans tailored for makers and businesses alike.
The S8 supports over 300 materials from the UltiMaker Marketplace, including the newly developed UltiMaker Nylon CF Slide, a PFAS-free, wear-resistant nylon. Temperature stability up to 180°C and a tensile strength exceeding 40 MPa make the device great for industrial applications.
Boasting 5x the processing power of its predecessor, the S8 is designed to last, while offering amazing productivity. “The S8 reflects our commitment to providing solutions that enable businesses to innovate and grow,” Michiel Alting von Geusau, CEO at UltiMaker, said in a press release.
Available today, the UltiMaker S8 sets a new benchmark for professional 3D printing. We’re curious to see exciting use cases for this blend of speed, precision, and versatility.
