Get a Bambu Lab 3D printer-shaped charger

Do you consider yourself a maker? Have you ever thought about what it’d be like to charge your smartphone with a 3D printer? If so, you’re in luck!

Desktop 3D printing innovator Bambu Lab has introduced a kit that can be 3D-printed into a wireless charger modeled on its very own A1 mini system.

Featuring a light-up logo and moving mechanical Z-arm with seven different settings, the little charger makes for an ideal desktop and workstation companion. But it’s not just a novelty item. Thanks to its low and high-power settings, it supports devices with varying power needs.

As it’s 3D-printable (besides a handful of electronics parts), users can also customize their charger and give it a unique flourish, by making it from different color filaments.

As you’ve got to buy the kit and materials, the cost of 3D printing one of these chargers is relatively high, especially when you can get mass-produced alternatives on the cheap. But, this could be said of many desktop 3D-printed goods, right?

In general, it’s the customization part that keeps makers coming back. If you’re looking for a community that’s open to making fun gadgets and gizmos, 3D printing is definitely the one!
