This can be done with Canvas: https://3dmag.com/reviews/canvas-3d-room-scanning-structure-sensor/

For this purpose, it’s better to buy an actual Structure Sensor (so no iSense) because the latest firmware update has some improvements for room scanning.

Keep in mind that Canvas is strictly a measurement tool and captures no color. For color room capture, it might be interesting to check out smartphones with Google Tango, like the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and ASUS Zenfone AR. More about those soon on the site.

Is it possible to scan those either with structure Sensor or iSense and the therefor appropriated apps?
Zhank you very much for you answer.

Sorry for that 🙁

Thanks for the info!

Based on that I’ve setup the notifications to be send from my domain through my SMTP server, which should prevent it from being flagged as spam.

Did it help?

Ah yes, I see that there’s a checkbox now!

Does it work? 🙂

No I didn’t but now I see a “subscribe to comments” tick box.
If you can retry answering to this one, would be perfect!

I just installed a plugin that should send you a notification about this reply. Did you get one?

It’s true that Skanect gives better geometry, but the current version doesn’t give good textures. This is improved in the new version 1.9 which I’ve beta tested. But it’s useless to publish a review before it’s actually out.

Keep in mind that light is crucial for good results. Indoor’s you really need a light setup. For people: get a big one. Tips here: https://3dmag.com/reviews/6-must-haves-for-3d-scanning-beginners/

Good tip about the battery life. Didn’t know that differed between the Structure Sensor and iSense but I will have booth soon so I can easily test.

Didn’t know you don’t get notification on comment replies. I do as an admin. I’ll look into that.

Hi,
Got it from Amazon Export Sales LLC, one of the vendors listed in the original link you submitted. The firmware is old (1.02). The only app that is not working is the Occipital calibration app. I could get it working with skanect but the results were not good compared to what I get with itseez3d despite the count of vertices being much higher with skanect. Is it related to me skipping the calibration step or to some parameters I didn’t fine-tune correctly? I don’t know and I’m waiting for your review 🙂
Anyhow, even with itSeez3d I don’t get the quality of your results yet. experience matters I guess…

I still think I’ll buy the official Occipital when I have the bucks : the battery life of this one is very short

cheers,

PS : if you could add an option to the comments so that we’re notified when there is a reply, it would be nice…
