Nano Dimension’s Exa 250vx Micro DLP 3D printer debuts at Formnext 2024

Nano Dimension has introduced the Exa 250vx, a high-precision micro DLP 3D printer, at Formnext 2024. With insights from Nano Dimension’s Fabrica Tera and Fabrica Giga platforms as inspiration and base to build on, the Exa 250vx addresses customer demand for micro-level detail on parts larger than the Tera’s 50mm build capacity. With a 100 x 100 x 70 mm build volume, the Exa 250vx offers 7.6 µm XY resolution and layers as fine as 10 µm, catering to industries that need ultra-fine detail in high volumes.

“Manufacturers producing micro parts are facing a trade-off between precision and productivity,” said Nir Sade, senior VP of additive manufacturing at Nano Dimension. “The Exa balances quality, productivity, and cost, making it a game changer for the industry.”

Compatible with Nano Dimension’s D-810 ABS-like resin and a range of third-party materials, the Exa is great for applications from medical microneedles to micro components for electronics to optical housings to delicate luxury items like fine jewelry.

The platform is positioned as a scalable budget alternative to micro-injection molding and CNC machining. As the Exa 250vx strengthens Nano Dimension’s reputation in high-precision additive manufacturing, industry specialists have all the reasons to get excited about high-res micro parts at production scale.
