SINTX Technologies (SINTX) and Prodways have announced a collaboration to develop an innovative solution for ceramic 3D printing. In this partnership, SINTX and its subsidiary, Technology Assessment and Transfer, Inc., will provide Prodways with ceramic-filled printable materials, boosting process development and customer support. The project aim is to develop a streamlined workflow for creating advanced ceramic products, mostly with casting applications in mind.
“Our outstanding engineering team has six years of experience working with Prodways printers, and we have already used their equipment to commercialize multiple resin compositions and part designs. I expect that a more formal partnership will lead to some breakthrough developments and novel solutions for all our customers,” said Ann Kutsch, general manager of the SINTX-Maryland site.
Since 2018, SINTX has made amazing progress with ceramic 3D printing, employing the Prodways L5000. This new alliance will integrate the latest hardware innovations from Prodways into SINTX’s operations. In turn, Prodways will benefit from SINTX’s silica and alumina-qualified slurries on the newest MovingLight machine generation, which boasts soaring high resolution and a versatile build envelope.
SINTX has experimented to expand its capabilities since beginning ceramic 3D printing in 1998, now offering a range of 3D printed ceramic parts made from materials like alumina, zirconia, and silica. They also provide tailor-made printable ceramic resin mixtures to projects across various industries.
Looks like by teaming up, these two companies that have a great history together are set to take ceramic 3D printing to an even more advanced level.
